What is the Alien Registration Number on Form I-130?

When filling out the Form I-130 petition for you relative, you may need to provide your Alien Registration Number, or A-number. You can find your Alien-number on the following documents:

  • Your Permanent Resident Card (green card);
  • Immigrant Data Summary, a document that you receive at your United States embassy appointment in your country;
  • Immigrant Fee Handout, a document that you receive at an appointment at a United States embassy in your country;
  • Visa Stamp; look for the Registration Number in this case.

Your Alien-number is a sequence of 9 or 10 characters: first goes the letter A, and then 8 or 9 digits.
